Denise Shorter, Chief Executive Director

As the founder and chief executive director of the Wee Diaper Bank, I am passionately dedicated to addressing the critical need for diaper assistance in our community. With a background in social work and nonprofit management, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges that families face when resources are limited.

My journey began with a simple realization: that no child should have to go without basic necessities like diapers, which are essential for health, hygiene, and dignity. This motivated me to create the Wee Diaper Bank, where we aim to provide free diapers to families in need, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

I believe in the power of community and collaboration. Our efforts are fueled by the generous support of local businesses, volunteers, and donors who share our vision of a world where every child is cared for and supported. Together, we work to raise awareness about diaper need and advocate for policy changes that can make a difference in the lives of families.

When I’m not working on the mission of the Wee Diaper Bank, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring the great outdoors, and engaging in community events that promote kindness and support.

Thank you for being a part of this important journey with us. Together, we can make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families in our community.

Women Empowering Each Other (WEE) was founded by Denise Shorter in 2015

with a deep commitment to supporting women and families. At WEE, we recognize the challenges that mothers face, and we understand that while some stress is a natural part of motherhood, excessive or long-term stress can negatively affect both mother and baby. Research shows that as a mother’s stress level rises, so does the baby’s, and prolonged exposure to high levels of stress hormones can impact a baby’s brain development.

Through WEE, our goal is to help minimize this stress by providing crucial support to mothers in need. We are dedicated to offering resources, assistance, and a sense of community to ensure that every mother can care for her child in a nurturing, low-stress environment, helping promote both maternal and infant well-being.
